Easter is named after a Pagan Goddess, the eggs represent fertility rites practiced by the pagans.
I am a Christian and I acknowledge that, I do not refuse as you say.

Christians should be remembering Passover, as Christ was and is our Passover lamb, but should also observe Christ's resurrection three days later.
Easter is just not a correct word to use.

Christmas is the same, not a celebration of Santa, we all know, but really it is in remembrance of Christ's conception, not His birth if you study the book of Luke, it is obvious, by Elizabeth's conception and her husband's duties spoken of in Luke - as to the time of year.

Some Christians just go along and do not take their faith perhaps as seriously to get into deeper knowledge, others do.

You may be rather focussed on enjoying your Easter egg, which will be very nice, and indeed it would appear that may have some pagan origin to do with a festival celebrating Spring. But I shall be thinking like many christians about what Jesus did at the passover festival: crucifixion and resurrection. Since that is the core of our faith. We aren't celebrating the passing of the seasons, although it is nice to see the Spring come.

If you want to start worshipping Eostre feel free to so! Those ideas of gods are too tied in to Nature to satisfy me; there is a lot of decay and death as well as life in Nature so I doubt it can really satisfy. That decay and death and fear was why some ancient pagans used to sacrifice humans, you know.

Resurrection of Christ has nothing whatsoever to do with eggs, rabbits, chickens, etc...

It is about The Risen Savior...

if that is what you are talking about..

easter, ishtar, is a pagan spring fertility festival...

the passover was celebrated by the jews from the night they got out of Egypt.

Jesus celebrated it till the night he was taken away to be murdered.

before that, he showed his disciples to commemorate his death, thus ending the passover, which, anyway was leading to his own sacrifice as the lamb of God.

much later, when the apostles had died, false apostles with worldly beliefs took over and christianity became a secular religion, it was decided to convert previously pagan celebrations into christian ones, so they could more easily convince pagan people to become christians.

December 25, winter solstice, saturnalia, pagan celebrations.

anyone who is interested in following Jesus, must make sure he believes in the right things, and keep away from anything that displeases God.

I always wondered why Christianity don't keep itself pure from pagan beliefs. After all what does the Resurrection of Jesus have to do with Fertility symbols like the egg or bunny rabbit?

However, from a historical perspective, perhaps the intent on the part of our Christian forefathers was good.

At one time we were all pagans. Across Europe, England, etc etc. When the early Missionaries got political control, say by converting the king. The old pagan temple would be torn down. The reason the new Christian church would be built on the same site was because the people were used to going to that place for worship. Now they would find Christian church instead. That way it was easyer to convert the public and prevent them from rebuilding the pagan church. Today we look at the old cathedrals and wonder why they were built on old pagan sites. It is not because of pagan influence on Christianity, but rather to replace paganism.

The same way with holy days.

Christian's fail to recognize a lot of things. Like the fact that there is no God. Or that the Earth is older than 2,000 years. Or that you're supposed to stone your teenage kid to death if they rebel. And kill everyone who works on a sunday. And that every living creature on the face of the planet did NOT live in walking distance of Noah's ark.

Most of their holidays come from Pagan tradition. Actually pretty much all of them do. Christmas, Halloween, and, as you said, Easter.

So in answer to your question. They are hypocrites. Their religion stole basically everything from other religions. There is nothing "different" about it.

All the catholic holidays have skeletons involved. People say, they don't care... the bible says, "He who worships this man and his ways, will be DAMNED". These holidays are far from being christian. Again, they don't care. They will find some reason why they do observe it.

Act 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put [him] in prison, and delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

The word easter comes from the Aramaic word pascha (πάσχα)

1) the paschal sacrifice (which was accustomed to be offered for the people's deliverance of old from Egypt)

2) the paschal lamb, i.e. the lamb the Israelites were accustomed to slay and eat on the fourteenth day of the month of Nisan (the first month of their year) in memory of the day on which their fathers, preparing to depart from Egypt, were bidden by God to slay and eat a lamb, and to sprinkle their door posts with its blood, that the destroying angel, seeing the blood, might pass over their dwellings; Christ crucified is likened to the slain paschal lamb

3) the paschal supper

4) the paschal feast, the feast of the Passover, extending from the 14th to the 20th day of the month Nisan

Even the dictionary definition of Easter refers back to paschal.
Eas·ter
Pronunciation: ˈē-stər
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English estre, from Old English ēastre; akin to Old High German ōstarun (plural) Easter, Old English ēast east
Date: before 12th century
: a feast that commemorates Christ's resurrection and is observed with variations of date due to different calendars on the first Sunday after the paschal full moon
