patron saints are those saints who like specialize in some kind of BS. ie sts cosmas and damian are patron saints of hairstyles and hairdressers

ancient pagan gods and goddesses of thinks like fertility, crops, military etc etc etc

then you have catholics who PRAY to patron saints... just like people way back when prayed to certain gods and goddesses for help in a certain area

how are they different?

Patron Saints are not Gods and Godesses. They are just people who other people believe were granted speial grace by God.

because we don’t believe the saints are Gods. When we pray to saints, we ask them to pray for us. “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matt 18:20

So instead of just me praying, I also have the prayers of saints with me. There is power in prayer my friend.

In Revelation 5:8, the bible tells us that the prayers of those saints will be answered by God,”And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”

I don’t see how fertility is “stupid crap”…unless you regret being born, and if that’s the case, I feel sorry for you. If your parents weren’t fertile (naturally or artificially so), you would not have been conceived. But thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy of Catholics who pray to their saints and call our gods demons at the same time (not all Catholics…just those who actually do this).
Venus Bless (one of those goddesses of that stupid crap called fertility)

  4. There is some difference. The concept of saints is different from the concept of God. Saints are more like mediators.

It isn’t much of a surprise, because more Christianity comes from Paganism than from Judaism.

The trinity concept– that is Pagan, totally against Judaism

Jesus– the sacrificial king myth (Pagan)

That the messiah would be God is against Judaism, but is part of Paganism

The whole concept of hell is taken from Paganism.

Why pick on Catholics when all of Christianity has been heavily influenced by Pagan themes and motifs?

And how is fertility crap when without a fertile Earth to grow food nothing would be living on it?
