032 – Coming out of the Broom Closet – Why you should!
This is an opinion video about why Pagans should live openly and not hide our beliefs. Most people fear what they don't know; figure out what you believe in, why you believe it, and know how to talk to people about them. "Do What You Will, If It Harms None." Hiding your faith only stifles your soul and your spirit, therefore harming you....... The wiccantexan www.youtube.com She has lived openly as a Pagan for over 20 years. Because my family is so very Catholic, I am avoiding telling them of my faith for as long as possible! I started practicing Reiki and was told that was witchcraft, so I know what would happen if I said I was actually a witch lol

Also now I have started wearing my pentacle to school! I realised my friends were wearing crosses! So it’s just as fair to wear my petacle! So I defo agree! BB )O(

Good Goddess, you’re right. People are terrified of change. I had the worst time of coming out to my mom but after five years she’s finally accepted it and is much more tolerant. And now that everyone knows and I’m open about it I don’t have to be afraid of what they think. Being in the open really is blissful.
When i was righting my application to secondary school, they asked my religon. so i said pagan. i was proud to be but i didn’t but say wicca.
In the streets, I will wear my wiccan clothes. i meen, its not trying to offend. if you were trying to offend, that wouldn’t be fair, such as you can wear wiccan clothes but i would never wear somthing like a t-shirt with f*** the chrsitians writtan accross it. lolz. I hope you understood that. anyways, blessings
When I told my mum it was kinda funny! I really thought she was gonna be against it! But she actually joked about it…like I would ask her if she could drive me to my friends house and she would be like “why can’t you fly there on your broomstick!” lol But I’d rather she joked about it than FORBID me to practice wicca! lol But she has been really understanding and supportive of it! yay! =D
of course EVERYONE knows that all Pagans worship the devil..
ugh *rolls eyes*
people definately fear the unknown
i just feel wierd about telling my mom (even though I am 19, i stilllive in her house)
Man… you guys that have parents that don’t care, or think it’s kinda neat, that you’re pagan or wiccan are so lucky. I wore a pentacle ring once when I was about 16 and my mom saw it. And then she threw it in a fire of leaves that we were burning that day, spouting off about how it’s devil worship, etc. I am just now starting to become public with my beliefs again, after almost 13 yrs of hiding.
I just found you! 5 stars and faved and subbed! Thank you for the vid…and I agree with you.
I dont think most people would even care if you brought these things to work.
@PopGarbStank

Why would anyone be afraid to die? Even those who don’t believe in an afterlife shouldn’t fear death, its a natural part of life. No matter what belief anyone has (christian, muslim, pagan, atheism) all humans have a common goal to live a good, enjoyable life.
as for if “we” wonder about the afterlife, it would a question to ask each individual. Personally, I occasionally think about what will happen to me, or more specifically my soul, but I don’t, and won’t ever, fear what will happen.
i just had a random thought while watching this a fun little name for a mixed religion between wiccan/pagan………wiggan i don’t know i just think it would be funny to say hi i’m wiggan how about you?
wouldn’t that just sound like fun k i’m blabbering so bye
I got the real thing not far away from were i live. Viking runestones that are over thousand years old. Quite cool !
5 stars and faved.
I’m from Texas too!
My parents are buddhist, and they’re a bit worried about my studying wicca but they seem more curious than anything.
Why should we fear death? I’m one of the pagans that believe in reincarnation so I just see death as the next step to another chance at life. For better or for worse, the soul never dies.
@MrMatthew1180 let me preface with the fact that not all pagans are alike, some are, some arent, some do and some don’t I personally am not really “afraid” to die, but I’m uncertain weather or not anyone is correct about what happens to your “conciousness” after you die, which of course is what makes me uncertain. In general, it really depends on the sect of paganizm, but I think most believe in some kind of afterlife.
I have to hide it from my parents but I cant hide it at school or anywhere else. I have to stand up for what I believe in.
I have mentioned to one family member ( a serious christian) that I have been study about other religions based on nature,, and she didn’t freak out,, I was relieved,, one small step out of the broom closet,,
Let me ask you pagans a serious question. ..Are you afraid to die ? Or ever seriously wonder about the after life ?
